La Cây Plush
La Cây, Your New Googly Eyed Best Friend! Want more Garden State Tortoise content?
Meet La Cây, the tiny turtle with a HUGE personality!
La Cây, whose name means “leaf” in Vietnamese, is our beloved Vietnamese black-breasted leaf turtle (Geoemyda spengleri) here at Garden State Tortoise. With his enormous, googly owl eyes, frantic little movements, and unbelievably bold personality, La Cây has become a fan favorite across our social media platforms. There’s simply no other turtle quite like him!
Native to the forested mountains of southern China and northern Vietnam, this extraordinary little species is officially classified as Endangered by the IUCN. Habitat destruction and collection for the wildlife trade have contributed to its decline, making conservation efforts increasingly important for its future.
Despite their tiny size, black-breasted leaf turtles have captured the hearts of turtle enthusiasts around the world. Their remarkable appearance, curious expressions, and unmistakable personalities have made them one of Asia’s most iconic little turtles.
We’ve teamed up with Makeship to bring La Cây to life as an exclusive plushie, celebrating not only our very own charismatic little character but an entire endangered species adored by so many. This plushie is a tribute to these remarkable turtles and an opportunity to help spread awareness about the challenges they face in the wild.
Whether you’ve fallen in love with La Cây through our videos or have admired black-breasted leaf turtles for years, this plushie is for you!
From our little corner of Garden State Tortoise to turtle lovers everywhere, we’re thrilled to share La Cây with the world!
